Challenge Your Feelings
Published on: March 11, 2024

Good Morning Jesus Focused Ones

It’s the only way we are going to thrive in this realm. We must return and then keep our focus on the One Who saved us. We must challenge our feelings!
In Psalm 43 it seems to be linked with Psalm 42 via the theme of spiritual depression. Pastor David Guzik outlines what the psalmist is saying.
“Send out Your light and truth! Let them lead me.” He knew his truth was not enough, he needed God’s ultimate reality of his life and situation. He submitted to God as His leader in this.
“Let them bring me to Your holy hill and to Your tabernacle.” God’s light and truth from His Word and/or His Spirit leads us to MEET WITH HIM where we focus on Him alone.
“Then I will go to the altar of God, to God my exceeding joy.” The way to the altar is opened by God sending out His light and truth, we submit and follow Him and He leads us to the cross of Jesus. We can go to the altar of God by going in faith to His cross and THINKING DEEPLY UPON HIS WORK AND VICTORY THERE.
FULL STOP. “Lord, help me right now to THINK DEEPLY upon Your finished work and victory at Your cross!” Take time, pause, meditate on Him on that cross & how HE SAVED YOU! Spend time with Him, expecting Him to answer this prayer. He will take you into His reality, a new dimension within.
When God answers this prayer we are then able to fully submit our feelings to HIM and hope in God.
“For I shall yet praise Him, the help of my countenance and my God.” We turn away from depression and return to praise. “Faith may have a long struggle with fear, but it will have the last word…!” (Maclaren)
