Good Morning Beloved
I love to read quotations from Charles Spurgeon, such a great man of God. I will include a few that David Guzik used in his study guide for Psalm 30 today.
“Grace has uplifted us from the pit of hell, from the ditch of sin, from the Slough of Despond, from the bed of sickness, from the bondage of doubts and fears; have we no song to offer for all this?”
I had to let that sink in. It’s TRUTH and yes, I have a song to offer for all of this!
In this Psalm David shows his extreme dependence upon God, his great thankfulness for all the times God rescued him, and his need to compel others to praise Him too. “He felt he could not praise God enough himself, and therefore he would enlist the hearts of others.” Charles Spurgeon.
I enlist your hearts to take moments to offer praise to God today and every day. We can never be thankful enough. It is GOOD for us to praise Him and be grateful!
He contrasts that God’s anger is but for a moment but His favor is everlasting! What a deal for us, His people! His favor always outweighs His disfavor! Let this bring you from sadness to gladness today, as David ends in this Psalm. Do not be silent before Him.
He longs for us to experience deeper levels of His love. He desires to hear our voices, each one uplifted to Him in awe and gratitude.
Let us stir ourselves up today. It’s a good day to pray!
