Early this morning I found myself praying about the intense need for unity in the Body of Christ. A few nights ago I found myself obsessing over how many tables we would need for our inner city outreach, what’s going to go where, who would man the tables, would we be able to unload ALL the stuff and get it out there, etc. God interrupted my useless thoughts.
“RELAX You’re in a company” He said.
I looked up the word “company” which means being in like minded fellowship, having companions, being part of a body of soldiers; We are an army, crew, or team!
It was so amazing because on my Webster’s app it showed this sentence for “company” as a verb instead of a noun. “JESUS HAD COMPANIED WITH THE LEAST PRIVILEGED AND MOST DISADVANTAGED MEMBERS OF SOCIETY!” (What are the odds Webster’s would use this example for the word God just spoke? As we continue to minister in the inner city the people there certainly fall into this category.
I also recognized that there are two companies working together, heaven’s army and our band of earthly brothers. Both are necessary!
The fact is we cannot bring God’s order and shalom into the earth unless we are in unity. We must band together like the Sons of God we are and start calling the shots in the earth. Until He returns, we are to “occupy.”
“And he called his ten servants, and delivered them ten pounds, and said unto them, Occupy till I come.” (Luke 19:13 KJV) In Greek the word “occupy” means to busy oneself, trade, to be engaged in a business, occupied totally.
Find your company. Then occupy till He returns in your designated areas.
