Never discount the power of a testimony. That’s why you want to give yours whenever you can. Testimonies of Jesus presence and power in the earth change lives.
A prayer request came in for a teenage boy who refused to interact, speak or cooperate with his parents, who were afraid of him. He refused to see a doctor or to leave the house. He was addicted to video games. He deliberately covered his face with his hair. As people prayed and bound the enemy, that very day he went to see a doctor and is now fully cooperating & interacting with his family. His parents are amazed. This happened within the past week.
There was a very offensive saying about Jesus on a car with dark windows in the neighborhood where I walk my dogs. It was there for a long time. It actually made me sick when I read it. So I began to pray for the man who owned the car, for him to see the truth about the Lord. I rebuked the enemy who put this out so brazenly for people to see and suffer the defilement of it. Just this morning I took courage to look at the car again. (That’s how much the saying on it sickened me.) It was gone. Only the license plate remained. It felt SO clean!
Many of us have everyday testimonies of character change, which I especially treasure. 2 Peter 1:5-8 exhorts us to BEGIN with our faith and ADD TO IT virtue, knowledge, self-control, steadfastness, Godliness, brotherly affection and love because as we stir ourselves up to do so they keep increasing in us and we become ever more effective and fruitful in the Kingdom of God. It is a cause for celebration as we realize we aren’t where we used to be. We don’t take offense anymore. We control our tempers. Peace reigns inside. We desire to have the character of Jesus fully formed inside of us. This is a huge testimony!
He is increasing our hunger for Him. He is the Author and Finisher of our transformation.
