We are in a three week cycle of time called “The Dire Straits” where the Jewish people went through repeated times of trial and tribulation and great mourning occurred. This cycle runs from 7/7/23 through 7/28/23 this year. God teaches us that time is cyclical, it is not linear as is supposed in the Greek mindset.

Through all our trials and testing, the God of all Comfort is with us. “I’m here,” He says. Many times in life we don’t need someone to offer a solution to our pain. We just need them to be with us in it. That is comforting.

I look back over this cycle and note on July 8 God brought this deeper understanding to me, that He comforts us so that we may comfort others. 2 Cor 1:3-7. If we don’t receive His comfort He cannot move through us to reach people. As I received more from Him, He then demonstrated His movement of compassion through me in a way I had not experienced before.

Today on the Hebrew calendar we enter into the month of AV. I was just taught this is called “Menachem Av” which means “Our Father, Our Comforter.” I praise God for this confirmation today.

Whatever you have been experiencing during this cycle just know that God wants to comfort you and He is with you in it.
