I’m sure you’ve heard the phrase “you can do anything you set your mind to do.” I was thinking about that phrase, knowing God wants us to be successful here in this life. We hope to “turn out well” and achieve “a desired end.”
God interjected one word for “mind” and that was “heart.”
We can do anything we set our hearts to do. God does have an “expected end” of success for us and it’s only through ever deepening relationship with Jesus. (Jer 29:11). He really is the ONLY way to the Father.
I asked, where is my heart? At first I thought of people and situations I deeply care about but then I heard “FOR HIM.” I thanked Holy Spirit for continuing to draw me into His deep well of love and passion for King Jesus. Everything flows out of that place and we WILL succeed as we remain, dwell, abide with HIM.
“Lord, thank You for your goodness, mercy and loving-kindness that always locates us. Thank You for decreasing our reliance on our minds and refocusing us back to our hearts which rest in You. We expect that we can do anything we set our hearts to do and that our hearts are settled on You.”
