Get Your Own Oil
Published on: June 10, 2022
I am in Acts 2 where Holy Spirit was poured out on that day of Pentecost. In The Passion Translation it describes it as “a violent blast of wind rushing into the place from out of the heavenly realm. The roar of the wind was so overpowering it was all anyone could bear. Then all at once a pillar of fire appeared before their eyes. It separated into tongues of fire that engulfed each one of them.”
This roar was so loud that “the people of the city heard the roaring sound” – from ALL over the city, which is a pretty wide area, they came running! I’ve been to Israel and was in that room and have walked throughout the city. That sound had to be loud! God made an entrance and He made sure everyone heard Him! The heavenly realm opened through a portal & blasted them. The pillar of fire was Holy Spirit (“One Like Me”) as when Jesus led the Israelites in the Exodus, then He separated and rested on each one of them.
Pretty huge supernatural phenomenon.
I have no doubt about this because of one particular much smaller but very impactful experience I had several years ago where God came into my little room here and rested upon my hands, then a vortex of wind engulfed me for a while and I just worshipped.
But though many people came to gather and inquire, “others poked fun at them and said, they’re just drunk on new wine.”  Even in the face of such a huge manifestation of God, some eyewitnesses denied the power and reality of Him.
Yes, even today we can miss it. That happens when we don’t operate like the wise virgins. We fail to keep our lamps lit with Holy Spirit, in full-on passionate relationship with Him. So when He manifests we get confused and think, is that You, God?
You can’t have my oil and I can’t have yours. Jesus wants each of us individually to fuel up our lamps and talk with Him personally. Every day. As much as we talk to significant others in our lives we need to listen to and respond to Him even more!
Selah, receive His burning eyes of love for you today!
